Hyperlinking to network files

Sometimes you cant paste a “Copy as path” you are unable to paste the UNC path in the body of the email. This stops your associates being able to click on links you email them.

The first thing is to ensure the network drive is set as the server name in the first part of the UNC path, and not the IP address:

E.G \\Server-Name\

Not :

\\192.168.0.1\

Then go to the network drive, select the file, hold shift, and copy as path.

Then paste in the body of the email and send to the staff member to test.

As a workaround, if the hyper link is not pasted in clickable form, try:

Paste the UNC Path and file name (will not be clickable)

Select the UNC path, (with quotes is OK)

Ctrl-K, Ctrl-V, then press Enter, this will create a hyperlink to the file location.
