Power BI is a Microsoft Product used to visualise patterns from large data sets. The data can be sourced from different places including spreadsheets, databases, and different websites including Facebook, Google Analytics, and also Exchange, and Active Directory.
The data is presented in charts or graphs to provide visual insights into a company s data. The advantage is that it replaces the long and cumbersome reports currently being used at a company.
The difference is a company say XYZ Healthcare may use reporting to analyse data sets. The reports summarise data from different areas by measuring core metrics and presents in different formats, e.g as an email, Power Point slide deck, or a dashboard.
Analytics explores the data and reports for insights into the business areas. This helps the user analysing the data sets to interpret and enhance business performance.
